Studio Review: Kim Busby Photography

This was a headshots session for uber-talented local Atlanta artist, Lee Brooks. We were completely spoiled by Park Studios’ beautiful space and natural light.

My client loved the Park Studios amenities, which include a dressing area that allowed her to change and touch up her makeup and hair.

I will definitely be returning to Park Studios in the future! I look forward to taking full advantage of this gorgeous resource in our community!

Coca-Cola Scholars Creativity Camp

Hello, friends! It’s Alice. Something you may not know about me is that I serve on on the Coca-Cola Scholars Alumni Advisory Board. This year I wanted to host an inspired workshop for our inventive alumni group. With the help of a few fellow creatives a 1-day creativity camp, for an intimate group of 20 alumni, was produced with style!

Last weekend, my creative circle came together to host Creativity Camp for Coca-Cola Scholars. We shared our knowledge of the topics of photography, hand-lettering, leather craftsmanship, and improvisation. The purpose of these exercises was to take a departure from the daily grind and to explore ways of infusing creativity into our everyday life.

As adults it’s often challenging to find time to refuel that sense of wonder. Life gets busy, work and schedules consume us.

I’d love to challenge you all to take out those old coloring books this weekend. Paint. Draw. Make a mess with your kids, and don’t be afraid of slowing down time and putting those never-ending commitments on hold to just … be.

Studio Review: Ashley Berrie Photography

My first time shooting in Park Studios was for a personal session for my 9 month old. I take pictures of him every day around our house or out and about, but for this session, I was looking for a blank canvas. I wanted a location that wouldn’t be distracting, something timeless that I could produce beautiful wall art with.

I came across Park Studios after hearing about it through NAPCP (National Association of Professional Child Photographers) and I knew it was exactly what I was looking for! The experience, from booking to shooting, was seamless. I brought a ton of stuff to the studio but ended up using the studio’s existing rug and chair that was already there.

I was so pleased with the entire experience, and especially these pictures of my little boy! Thank you, Park Studios! I can’t wait to bring my clients back here.

Creating the Perfect Headshot

Park Studios co-owners Alice and Kyu Park show us how to create a v-flat that’s perfect for your space. A behind the scenes look from our creative bosses are below!

Whether you photograph in a home studio, have your own space, or your studio is of the portable variety, affordable DIY items can help you with your business without having to make a major investment.

Designing Park Studios from the ground up, so to speak, has allowed us to the amazing opportunity to turn the space into one we can truly call our own and feel confident sharing with others. A little elbow grease and a DIY tutorial or two resulted in a v-flat perfect for headshots and traditional portraits!

But where does one begin when designing a v-flat? The perfect paint hue, of course!

Once we decided on the ideal color (a flat, matte black from Behr), we began researching different methods of making a v-flat to see what would be the best option for Park Studios. We knew we wanted to build something everyone will love!

Thanks to this project, we were able to stay within budget and create a beautiful v-flat to work with — and you can work with it, too!
